The below is based on the following typical residential criteria and typical ‘fencing’ safety factors:
- 2.4m panels to create the minimum bay span
- 100 kPa SBC (Safe Bearing Capacity of the ground)
- Terrain Category 3 (Terrain with numerous, closely spaced obstructions with heights typically between 3-10m, e.g. suburban housing).
- Full Shielding (At least two rows of houses or similar-sized permanent obstructions surround the building being considered. In Regions A&B, heavily vegetated areas within 100m of the site can provide Full Shielding. The application of Full Shielding is considered appropriate for typical suburban development equal to or greater than 10 houses and/or similar-sized obstructions per hectare.)
Fencing in wind region A
Wind region A is the most common wind region; and the calmest! Therefore, you will be able to choose any of our wall styles, up to any of their pre-engineered heights, as below:
- SlimWall – up to 2.4m* high (with strengthening sleeves)
- SlimWall (with Aluminium posts) – up to 2.1m high
- TrendWall – up to 3.0m* high (with strengthening sleeves for heights above 2.4m)
- VogueWall – up to 3.0m* high
- EstateWall – up to 3.0m* high
Fence options for region B
Wind region B experiences stronger winds, but still not classified as cyclonic. The following wall styles and heights will be suitable for this wind region:
- SlimWall – up to 2.4m* high (with strengthening sleeves)
- SlimWall (with Aluminium posts) – up to 2.1m* high
- TrendWall – up to 3.0m* (with strengthening sleeves for heights above 2.4m)
- VogueWall – up to 3.0m* high
- EstateWall – up to 3.0m* high

Designing a fence for wind region C
Wind region C is a cyclonic Australian wind region. Therefore, it is paramount that you choose a cyclone rated wall or fence to prevent serious damage and injury.
Our following wall styles have been pre-engineered for wind region C:
- SlimWall – up to 2.4m* high (with strengthening sleeves)
- SlimWall (with Aluminium posts) – up to 1.8m* high
- TrendWall – up to 3.0m* (with strengthening sleeves for heights above 2.4m)
- VogueWall – up to 2.8m* high
- EstateWall – up to 3.0m* high
Can I still use modular fencing in wind region D?
We have built our entire company on innovation and invention; it’s practically in our blood to take on a challenge! Whilst our walls and varying post systems have been pre-engineered for up to wind region C, we have also previously designed and built walls in wind region D (severe cyclonic).
The general height limits for wind region D are as follows:
- SlimWall – up to 2.4m* high (with strengthening sleeves)
- SlimWall (with Aluminium posts) – up to 1.2m* high
- TrendWall – up to 2.4m* (with strengthening sleeves for heights above 1.8m)
- VogueWall – up to 2.2m* high
- EstateWall – up to 3.0m* high
