Winner of Backyard Week on The Block 2025 were contestants Emma & Ben in House 1, delivering a masterclass in marrying mid-century modern elegance with the serene beauty of Daylesford.

Elevated and clad in dark, sophisticated tones, their home is bold yet beautifully connected to its surroundings.

VogueWall reinforces this vision offering clean architectural lines, a premium finish, and seamless integration with their modern aesthetic.

A Modern Statement in the Daylesford Landscape

Daylesford’s lush, undulating countryside forms the perfect backdrop for House 1’s elevated form. The dark façade stands in elegant contrast to the earthy greens of the region, while warm timber details soften the exterior, echoing the area’s natural textures.

As the first house to be judged, the benchmark is set, and this week the standard was high. Entering from the large, elevated deck overlooking the Daylesford hillside, the judges immediately recognised the design of the landscaping was a deliberate decision to reflect the natural surrounds of Daylesford. Landscaping expert and guest judge, Dave Franklin, was impressed with the selection of native plants and local inspiration with a grand amphitheatre-style making way for the rolling backyard design, framed by VogueWall.

VogueWall’s profile mirrors this architectural intent, creating a boundary solution that feels intentional, not added on. Painted in dark Monument® ensures the wall blends seamlessly with the home’s dark exterior palette.

Guest judge and The Block landscaper Dave Franklin said,

“You’re going to have a fantastic garden here and it’s going to be hard to beat.”

Elevated Aesthetic, Effortless Cohesion

The pitched roof, skylights and warm interior palette create a home that’s simultaneously modern and welcoming. VogueWall frames this vision with crisp, linear silhouettes that echo the home’s geometry, elevating the curb appeal and ensuring a cohesive look from every angle.

The plungie pool selection also included dark walls to complement the exterior of the home, with brick round the pool chosen complementing the feature.

With the 3D-Contour Pool Cabana included an integrated sauna, with considered placement to take in the view across their pool and parts of the rolling hillside.

A Timeless Finish

The inclusion of a fire pit, and rustic stepping stones among a refined garden, with a considered selection of plants round out the undulating landscape to maximise the view over the VogueWall boundary.

Daylesford’s charm lies in its balance of refined style and natural beauty. VogueWall, with its masonry-like finish, brings that same duality. A sophisticated, architectural wall that’s durable and low maintenance, designed to last in country Victoria’s changing climate.
