A QLD MRTS15 road noise barrier was required for the first stage of the Elliot Springs land release, situated along the Bruce Highway. To the delight of the developer, Lendlease, and the contractor, Hansen Constructions, ModularWalls’ solution exceeded expectations, delivering exemplary client service and high-performance products.
The final solution required aesthetic harmony with the development, low maintenance and compliance with the TMR specifications. Timber was undesirable, being a particularly high maintenance product for the tropical climate. After extensive research on ModularWalls’ previous works in the Townsville region, Lendlease was very impressed with the design flexibility and competitive costs of ModularWalls’ products in comparison to alternative products, such as concrete.
A challenging brief is no obstacle for ModularWalls
To meet all requirements of this challenging brief, ModularWalls went above and beyond expectations to deliver the perfect solution. Multiple redesigns, consultations and negotiations were required to satisfy all stakeholders of the project, including budget constraints, aesthetic design values and TMR specifications.
Hansen Constructions were very happy and complimentary of the above and beyond client service the ModularWalls team gave. During the design stage, this support included project management, detailed design drawings for QLD TMR submission, engineering and FORM 15 support. During the construction phase, Hansen Constructions directly engaged a ModularWalls Trade Partner as an installation consultant, who trained the team and supported them throughout the process.
“Thank you so much; we appreciate you coming up to Townsville, helping us get a great start on the wall and passing on all your knowledge with our guys. We cannot thank you enough!”
— Jacqui Murr, Hansen Constructions NQ
The final solution was a combination of two different noise barrier products, utilising EnduroMax impact resistant road noise barrier panels along the road-facing section, as well as AcoustiMax noise wall panels for the return runs. Reaching 3m high and spanning approx. 300m in length, the sleek, modern design offered a sophisticated finish that perfectly harmonised with the aesthetic values of the development.
