This renovated home in NSW, needed a sleek boundary fence to complement their fresh, modern aesthetic. SlimWall offered a slim, premium solution with a high-end aesthetic to the tight-dimensional space.
A renovated home deserves a backyard refresh
The product was first suggested by architects who specialise in seamlessly integrating new and old aesthetics of landscaping and design, to create a timeless, fresh look. The existing metal fencing was detracting from the premium aesthetic of the recently renovated home, yet the large footings needed for a brick wall would have encroached too much on the already small space.
As the backyard had decreased in size to allow more room for the home extensions, they appreciated that the SlimWall did not require wide strip footings or encroach on the already limited space. The incorporation of retaining panels was also a fantastic addition, allowing the client to level the space, increasing functionality of the outdoor living area, and include garden beds around the perimeter.
The SlimWall was finished with an Acratex texture, in the same grey shade as the exterior of the home, to provide a continuous architectural design and to showcase the foliage of the garden beds. Existing trees on the bordering neighbour’s property initially posed a challenge, as they did not want the root systems damaged, however the modular fencing installation process allowed them to step the panels and avoid any damage.
“ModularWalls was great,” says Sarah from Caledonian Landscapes, who specified the landscaping designs for the client. “There were so many realignments of the drawings, just to make sure it was OK – it was my first time using the product, and sometimes using a new material can take me a while to understand, so I was very grateful for their patience and help with it all!”
