Introducing Brad and Victoria, the proud owners of Shades of White. This family of four, including their two young sons, enjoys life with their beloved pet beagle and cat. They embarked on the exciting journey of building their dream coastal home in a seaside Queensland suburb. With a vision for the future, they custom-designed their forever home to create a light, airy haven – complete with a contemporary front fence.

Future-proofing: designing with a clear vision
Victoria is an established interior designer and was heavily involved in the floor plan development – every design decision considered how the space would serve their family now and well into the future.
The goal was to create a spacious home that fostered family time while providing ample space for each family member to enjoy solitude. Three Birds Renovations were a key inspiration for the project, particularly with their choice of a white exterior.

Enhancing space, privacy and security with a contemporary front fence
Initially, the couple contemplated installing double gates to one side of their front yard. However, as the build progressed, they realised this would compromise valuable front yard space: yard size is a luxury in new developments like theirs.
Adding a contemporary front fence made perfect sense to maximise the usable space on their property.
“The realisation and decision to fence in the front yard just made sense. It would provide more play space for the boys. It also gave an extra level of privacy and security, restricting access to the front door and windows.”

Creating curb appeal for elevated aesthetics
The home’s facade features straight lines and edges contributing to its modern aesthetic Here, the EstateWall® front wall becomes a standout feature that enhances street presence and security and completes the overall look of their home.
“It was important that the front fence would complement the architecture of the home. It would make up a large part of its street presence. The ModularWalls fence takes the spotlight. It helps to create street presence, security and completes the look of our home.”

A cost-effective masonry alternative
Initially, the couple had envisioned a rendered masonry fence, but after discovering the associated costs, they sought alternative fencing solutions that wouldn’t compromise their desired look.
“We started exploring alternative fencing systems. When we found ModularWalls and looked at their customer success stories, we knew this product was the right choice for us.”
Without ModularWalls, achieving their envisioned front yard design would have necessitated significant compromises regarding aesthetics and budget.
“Without ModularWalls, I don’t believe we would have been able to achieve our built-in front yard design without significantly compromising on the look we wanted to achieve or having to go significantly over budget.”

Seamless installation, contemporary customisation
Brad and Victoria focused on selecting a cohesive colour palette, opting for white and off-white paints that embody a fresh coastal vibe – featuring namesake “shades of white”. Additional feature stone cladding to the front pillar adds wow factor.
“We chose white and off-white paint to create a fresh coastal look. We selected feature stone cladding to the front pillar to create the wow factor.”
Engaging a recognised installer of ModularWalls set the stage for a smooth outcome.
“It was incredible to watch how quickly everything got installed. All that was left for us to do was to paint it!”

Choosing ModularWalls for a contemporary front fence
Brad and Victoria are thrilled with the results and recommend ModularWalls to anyone seeking a modern fence that elevates their property.
“We are very happy with the outcome! We would recommend using ModularWalls to anyone looking to achieve a modern fence and elevate the look of their property. ModularWalls helped us achieve security, privacy and a modern aesthetic at a fraction of the cost we would have had to invest into an alternative fencing system. We love the look and how quickly the installation took place.”

Low-maintenance landscaping and coastal-cool finishing touches
When it came to landscaping and finishing touches, it was all about keeping it coastal, cool and low maintenance. Victoria chose lavender scallops for contrast, while “Moses-in-the-cradle” adds colour and grows fast for ground cover. Brass house numbers from Bayside Luxe add a final touch of coastal luxe.
