Upstairs at Fred’s in Camden, NSW is a quirky bar dedicated to repurposing old treasures and giving them new life. When Steve Wisbey OAM, marketing guru and director at Fred’s, decided to transform a forgotten, unused space into a thriving rooftop bar, his biggest challenge was getting it past the council’s strict noise restrictions.
After years of council battles, Steve approached ModularWalls, who were able to design a bespoke noise attenuation solution that delivered all the acoustic requirements and design versatility he needed without blowing the budget. The TrendWall acoustic barrier system provided an acoustic barrier around the rooftop perimeter.

The cementitious finish of the AcoustiMax panels and the choice of aluminium posts for a most subtle profile created the perfect blank canvas for Steve’s creative visions.
To provide a heightened acoustic performance, revolutionary AcoustiSorb noise absorption panels were fixed to the face of the TrendWall, delivering a whopping NRC rating in excess of 0.9 (NRC ratings range from 0 to 1). This dual-panel solution helps protect neighbours from the sound of music or people dining and comfortably meets council requirements.
