As an Australian leader in building and construction materials, Hanson turned to noise abatement market leaders ModularWalls when it came to the manufacture and installation of a noise absorption wall with AcoustiSorb sound absorbing panels. Local council imposed strict mandatory acoustic regulations as part of the all-important new plant construction in WA, and the noise absorption wall had to meet specific DA conditions. In addition, the noise absorption solution had to be cost effective.
The solution offered by ModularWalls included a BarrierWall system measuring 4.2m high x 40m long that incorporated their proprietary AcoustiSorb sound absorbing panels. These panels have an insulated core resulting in an NRC rating > 0.9. This safely ensured DA conditions were successfully met. The lightweight yet robust construction of the panels along with the fact there is no requirement for painting (as the panels are pre-finished) favourably affected the project budget. ModularWalls managed the entire process from concept drawings, detailed design and engineering through to installation, which is why they are Australia’s leader and fastest growing manufacturer of commercial acoustic walls.
The AcoustiSorb is a simple, effective and aesthetically pleasing noise wall panel that is custom-designed to meet some of the toughest acoustic pollution challenges that clients are likely to encounter in transportation and industry. The robust, lightweight design of the AcoustiSorb makes it ideal for sound insulation purposes in noise-intensive environments such as road and rail corridors, as well as businesses that make extensive use of loading docks, heavy machinery, HVAC units or large-scale generators.
