A childcare in Maroubra, NSW, needed an acoustic barrier with retaining wall capabilities to screen the playground from a busy main road. The barrier wall’s purpose was twofold. Firstly, to reduce traffic noise and secondly, to ensure the safety of the children.
The wall needed to be quickly installed, aesthetically pleasing and provide a secure boundary that kept the children safe and didn’t permit climbing. Restricted site access posed a challenge, limiting any construction involving plant use.
