Are you receiving our Trade Update SMS texts, but not our newsletter emails? Here’s why…and how to fix it.
1. Is it in your Junk Email folder?
Sometimes, emails from new email addresses go straight to your Junk (or Spam) folder. This is simply your email inbox trying to weed out spam for you; it makes our lives a lot easier, but sometimes, it can get in the way of the emails we’re trying to send you.
If you do find our emails in your Junk folder, you can make sure emails from that sender display in your inbox in the future. In Outlook, all you have to do is right click on the email, find where the ‘Junk’ rule is, and mark it as ‘Not Junk’. For other inboxes, open the Junk Email Options and find a way to mark the email and/or the sender as ‘Not Junk’.
2. Are you receiving any emails from us at all?
If you haven’t received any emails from us at all, there might be a typo or error with the email listed against your account.
Please fill out this quick form and choose the option, ‘I’m not receiving any emails at all from ModularWalls‘, so we can double-check it in the system for you.
However, if you’re receiving emails from sales, accounts or the factory, but not from marketing, then keep reading…
3. Are you using a generic word at the start of your email address?
This is really common with most businesses; in fact, we even have an info@ email address! However, due to some recent updates in the Privacy Act and Spam Act surrounding email marketing, certain generic emails are now excluded from mailing lists.
Some examples of generic email addresses that might be blocked include (but are not limited to):
- info@example.com
- sales@example.com
- orders@example.com
- contact@example.com
I have a generic email address; can I still receive marketing emails?
Definitely! Since we can’t fit a whole lot into our SMS texts, we use our emails to send more detailed info, free resources and company updates. Therefore, we want you to be able to still receive them.
However, we also know that you can’t just change your company’s email address. So, the solution we propose is for you to send us a different email address to use for marketing emails, that won’t be blocked by this spam filter. This could be:
- a personal email address (usually something like gmail, hotmail, yahoo, bigpond, optusnet, iinet, etc), or
- a company email address that starts with a name, rather than a generic word. For example, if your current company email address is info@fencing.com.au, you could create a similar email address using your name at the front instead, like bob@fencing.com.au.
To do this, simply fill out this quick form and choose the option, ‘I have a generic word in my email address‘, so you can nominate an alternative email address for our Trade Update newsletters.
…what if I don’t want to receive marketing emails anymore?
As always, if you decide you don’t want to receive marketing emails anymore, you can unsubscribe to them with a single click. This ‘Unsubscribe’ link can be found at the bottom of every marketing email we send!
4. I don’t have a generic email address and it’s not in my Junk; what now?
If none of the above applies to you, we might need to dig a little deeper.
Please fill out this quick form and choose the option, ‘I don’t know why I’m not receiving Marketing emails‘.
