A resident of picturesque Norther Beaches, NSW, submitted a photo of her stunning backyard oasis, complete with designer SlimWall pool wall, during ModularWalls’ Photo Competition.
We loved the snap so much, we decided to follow up on her outdoor design journey and organise a professional shoot of her space.
Currently in the middle of her backyard makeover project, she shares her insight and experience of her modular wall installation.
Q. What were the main priorities when deciding on which pool wall to use?
Compliance with pool regulations for boundary fencing, and aesthetics; there’s no room for a garden bed between the pool and the fence, so the fence had to be attractive in its own right, as we couldn’t screen it.
Q. How long did the installation of your SlimWall take? How did you finish your wall?
About 5 days. We painted it in a Porter’s ‘Stone Paint Fine’ colour, matched to ‘Colourbond Ironstone’ — this was to give it some texture. We also installed three cylindrical stainless steel up-down lights as feature lighting.
Q. Are you happy with the final result?
Very happy! My favourite element is how it sort of blends and disappears with the dark paint colour.
As the images show, Carol’s new pool wall is simply stunning, and the incorporated feature lighting adds a magical element to the space at night. We absolutely love how she’s designed the pool area to showcase her own personal style, and can’t wait to see photos of her backyard transformation once she’s completed it!
